Ok, Hear Me Out.

July 15, 2010

I recently had a great meeting with the adorable Denis from Tamara Kretzer PR. We got in to a whole conversation about how people don’t give back to the world enough which is where Australian footwear brand Holster step in.

Holster have teamed up with Cancer Survivor Ali Stunt as she launches Pancreatic Cancer Action – a new charity dedicated to “changing the numbers” of pancreatic cancer survivors. From each online purchase made of a purple sandal, Holster will be donating £10.

Now before you yawn and scroll on, I urge you to think of it this way: Everyone needs a waterproof flip flop or sandal in their lives. Whether it be to use in the gym showers (I can never understand how people go barefoot in there!) or to casually walk to the beach or even just to wear with a cute maxi dress, how about – instead of nipping to Topshop, give back and click on the link below to be part of something that could change someone’s life.

One last thing before I go: Pancreatic cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer deaths in the UK, 90% of patients are diagnosed too late for surgery and twenty people die every day as a result of pancreatic cancer. With considerably fewer funds available to donate to, Holster hope this initiative will improve once greater awareness of pancreatic cancer is established. I’m not trying to be morbid, I am just giving you the facts in hope you will click that link above!

£10 from each sale is really great, i’m the sort of person to buy things if they have a greater pupose than their fuction(see my latest post) so to hear about more things like this makes me feel a tiny bit better about mankind
